KTV Group completes surface treatment on the fishing vessel Askøybas.

KTV Group has completed surface treatment work on three large storage tanks on board the fishing vessel Askøybas, owned by Askøy Havfiske AS.

Askøybas is a Norwegian, Norwegian-flagged coastal fishing vessel built in 1977 and registered in Askøy, Vestland. With a hull length of 52 metres, the vessel operates extensively in the Barents Sea and is engaged in fisheries such as snow crab and coastal shrimp trawling.

The project included high-pressure washing and complete removal of existing paint from the tanks. Following cleaning, a rust remover was applied to ensure correct surface preparation and long-term corrosion protection.

The tanks were then dried and heated before being spray-painted with a two-component industrial coating system, designed for demanding maritime conditions. All work was carried out with a strong focus on quality, durability, and operational reliability.

This project demonstrates KTV Group’s expertise in industrial maintenance and surface treatment in harsh marine environments, where correct methodology and documented execution are critical for long service life and safe operations.

KTV Group has experience dating back to 1992 and has built a solid business based on innovative and efficient solutions within cleaning and surface treatment. Our work processes are optimized with a strong focus on continuous development, quality and efficiency.
