KTV Group has completed an extensive facade cleaning and surface treatment project at Felleskjøpet’s historic industrial facility in Vaksdal, Norway. The work has been carried out in several phases over two years using KTV Working Drone technology, with the aim of preserving the buildings for the future.
The industrial facility dates back to 1871 and developed into one of Scandinavia’s largest commercial flour mills. Among its most distinctive buildings is the monumental grain silo from the 1930s, designed by renowned Bergen architect Leif Grung.
The facility remains in active industrial operation and represents an important part of Norway’s industrial heritage. Maintenance is therefore being carried out at a historic site that continues to serve an important function.
Extensive deep cleaning and preventive treatment.
Large parts of the building structures had accumulated significant dirt and biological growth following years of exposure to moisture and demanding weather conditions.
KTV Group has carried out thorough high-pressure cleaning and deep cleaning of most surfaces using KTV Working Drone technology. The technology makes it possible to clean large and tall facades without scaffolding or lifts in areas where drones are used, contributing to improved safety and efficiency.
Following the cleaning, the surfaces have been treated with SelfCleaner, a preventive surface treatment designed to counteract new biological growth and help keep facades clean for longer periods.
Modern technology preserves historical value.
The combination of thorough deep cleaning and preventive surface treatment contributes to the long-term maintenance of the historic industrial facility.
The project demonstrates how KTV Working Drone technology can be used on large and challenging building structures while helping preserve important cultural, historical and economic values.
KTV Group provides facade cleaning, industrial cleaning and surface treatment services using KTV Working Drone technology throughout Norway.
