Roof treatment and roof refurbishment
Roof restoration with surface treatment
Roof restoration is used as a method to refresh roof tiles with color while also extending the lifespan of the tiles. A standard roof restoration normally consists of thorough cleaning and the application of two coats of surface treatment.
Over time, moss will gradually damage concrete roof tiles, which can eventually lead to problems. The most important thing is therefore to prevent moss from taking hold. This can be done by cleaning the roof and applying KTV SelfCleaner every two years as an after-treatment to prevent new moss growth.
If you also want to refresh the color, the roof tiles can be treated with roof paint. You can also choose the color you prefer.
Roof treatment with KTV Nano and KTV Eco
KTV Group offers complete roof treatment with KTV Nano and KTV Eco. This method has significant environmental benefits and is especially well suited for customers with a strong focus on sustainability and eco-friendly solutions.
The roof treatment consists of four steps. First, the roof is cleaned thoroughly. Then the surface is treated with one coat of KTV SelfCleaner and one coat of KTV Nano, which reduces moisture absorption in the tiles and protects the surface. Finally, KTV Eco is applied, giving the roof a self-cleaning effect.
KTV Eco also provides a unique environmental benefit. The self-cleaning surface helps break down bacteria, viruses, and NOx emissions. A treated surface of 30 m² can reduce pollution equivalent to the emissions from one gasoline car over the course of a year under normal driving conditions.
With this roof treatment, you get a roof that stays cleaner over time, while also making a positive contribution to the environment.
KTV Group’s personnel are certified for roof work and have access to lifts and the necessary equipment to carry out roof treatment quickly and efficiently.
Benefits using KTV ECO and KTV NANO
What are KTV ECO and KTV NANO, and what are the benefits?
Self-cleaning and environmentally friendly surface treatment
KTV ECO is an advanced surface treatment based on photocatalytic technology. The treatment creates a self-cleaning effect, allowing facades and surfaces to largely clean themselves using sunlight and rainwater.
Key features
Self-cleaning surface.
Dirt, viruses, bacteria and organic material are naturally broken down, keeping the surface clean with minimal need for manual cleaning. KTV ECO can also be used indoors with the same effect, activated by artificial light sources.
Antibacterial and antiviral effect.
The surface inhibits the growth and spread of bacteria and viruses, providing an additional hygienic protective layer. This significantly improves the indoor environment and is especially recommended for hospitals, schools, kindergartens, offices and private homes.
Air- and environment-improving properties.
The treatment breaks down air pollution, particularly NOx particles, contributing to cleaner air in cities and residential areas. In Norway, 30 m² of treated surface corresponds to an annual NOx reduction equivalent to the emissions from one car. These results can be used in environmental reporting.
Long service life.
The treatment protects the substrate over time and reduces the need for frequent maintenance.
KTV ECO is particularly well suited for facades, roofs, concrete and other mineral-based surfaces where cleanliness and environmental performance are critical.

Nano impregnation for long-term protection
KTV NANO is a highly effective nano impregnation developed to protect surfaces against water ingress and damage. The product penetrates deep into mineral substrates and forms an invisible, breathable barrier that prevents moisture penetration while preserving the surface’s natural appearance.
Key features
Water- and dirt-repellent.
Effectively prevents water ingress and reduces the risk of frost damage, cracking and biological growth such as algae, moss and fungi.
Keeps surfaces cleaner over time.
Lower water absorption makes it more difficult for dirt and pollution to adhere to the surface.
Protection of building materials.
Particularly effective on mineral surfaces such as concrete, brick, plaster and painted facades with high mineral content.
For indoor and outdoor use.
Can be applied both internally and externally, for example on walls and ceilings in parking facilities, industrial buildings and basements where moisture may cause damage or discolouration.
The benefits of combining KTV ECO and KTV NANO.
Together, KTV ECO and KTV NANO provide a complete solution that combines active self-cleaning performance with passive impregnation protection.
KTV ECO breaks down pollution and keeps surfaces clean and hygienic.
KTV NANO protects against water ingress and structural damage, extending the service life of buildings.
The result is a significantly reduced need for maintenance, increased durability of building materials and environmental benefits for both the property and its surroundings.
With these products, KTV Working Drone delivers future-oriented solutions that protect economy, aesthetics and the environment.

Documented performance
KTV ECO and KTV NANO are based on technology developed and tested by NanoPhos S.A. in cooperation with independent research institutions across Europe.
Independent Laboratory Tests
National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (Greece):
- ISO 22197-1 testing showed up to 42.4% reduction of NOx (nitrogen oxides).
- 10 m² of treated surface provides the same air-purifying effect as a single tree.
ETAT S.A. (Food Industry Technology Laboratory):
- Reduction of Listeria monocytogenes by 54% and E. coli by 31% after 60 minutes of light exposure.
- The effect is due to photocatalysis, not chemical reaction.
NanoPhos R&D, Sun & UV Test:
- Under natural light exposure, organic dyes were fully degraded within 16 hours, while untreated surfaces remained contaminated.

KTV Group, a sustainable partner
Sustainability
Our technology and methods are developed to optimise and secure the areas we work in and, not least, to create a safer working environment for our employees. In most cases, this also reduces the total time required to complete assignments.
We have developed the KTV PowerCleaner, a fully electric, battery-powered high-pressure washer. The system is unique in its class and features a pure water solution that reduces the need for chemicals and lowers environmental impact.
Sustainable cleaning methods.
Our cleaning methods are developed with a clear focus on sustainability and surface protection.
The products we use are designed to preserve surfaces over time and prevent damage, while keeping them clean throughout the maintenance period. Buildings and public infrastructure typically have long service lives, making the choice of maintenance method a critical factor for sustainability.
Digital compliance and documentation.
The Bluetag CRM system is fully compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
All assignments and projects are documented using checklists, risk assessments, reports and photos. This documentation is available to customers online from day one, ensuring full transparency, traceability and quality control throughout the entire project.
