KTV Group has been selected by Vy Tog AS (Vy Train Norway) to carry out the cleaning and disinfection of water tanks and piping systems on trains in operation.
The project originates from challenges related to elevated bacteria levels in water samples from several train sets. To ensure safe and stable water quality for toilets, handwash stations and coffee machines, Vy has engaged KTV Group to perform cleaning, disinfection and new water sampling of both tanks and associated pipe systems.
The project includes a total of 11 train sets with 34 water tanks of various sizes. In the first phase, the work will start on one train set as part of a controlled and stepwise implementation before further rollout.
All work is carried out on sidetracks at Bergen Railway Station during night hours, ensuring that regular train operations are not affected. This requires precise planning, high efficiency and execution within limited time windows.
